 Hello! My name is Joe Stephens, and I am the director of the Trinity Dream Center. I am a graduate of Malvern High School in Malvern, Ohio where I played sports all through high school. I have two daughters, Jenae and Tiffany, and a lovely wife Michelle. I have been coaching for 19 years, and I am currently the JV coach at Glenoak High School in North Canton, Ohio. I love coaching because to me I see it as making a difference in a child’s life. My goal and the goal of everyone who works with the Trinity Dream Center AAU is to teach young athletes to play and excel at a highly competitive level. We believe in giving them a firm foundation in the many individual skills required to be a strong player. Equally important, our coaches teach their players to use these skills effectively as a team. Parents have a significant role to play in the Trinity Dream Center Organization. We encourage open communication between parents and coaches to help ensure that the concerns of all the children are appropriately addressed.
•I will place the emotional and physical well being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win.
•I will treat each player as an individual, remembering the large range of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
•I will take reasonable measures to honor all commitments to athletes.
•I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players.
•I will promise to review and practice the basic first aid principles needed to treat injuries of my players.
•I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players.
•I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all my players.
•I will provide a sports environment for my team that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
•I will be knowledgeable in the rules of girls’ basketball, and I will teach these rules to my players.
•I will use those coaching techniques appropriate for each of the skills that I teach.
•I will remember that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is for children and not for adults.
